		Geography Field Work Many schools visit Smallwood for their annual geography field trips, they find Smallwood an ideal base. Staffordshire Moorlands Throughout the area there are endless opportunities for a wide range of outdoor activities. The area is rich in wildlife and geological interest and its contrasting landscapes could never fail to impress. Carsington Reservoir, Ashbourne and the Churnet Valley also make ideal study and recreational venues and all are within half an hour's drive. The National Trust Shugborough, home of Lord Lichfield is but half an hours drive away, as indeed is Sudbury, with its famous museum of childhood. Discounts for school groups are normally available if booked in advance.		Alton Towers This ever popular venue with groups is just twenty minutes from Smallwood.
